CORE VALUES

  Our core values guide both the internal and external conduct of Olivet Academy. They are the unwavering qualities that differentiate the institution as they identify, inspire, galvanize, and determine our highest priorities.

1. Great Commission

  Matthew 28:18–20 contains what has come to be called the Great Commission: And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This command essentially outlines what Jesus expected his faithful followers to do shortly before he ascended into heaven. Olivet Academy seeks to prepare students to be competent gospel communicators and effective leaders who will serve society in various fields such as missions, literature, art, science, math and business.

2. Growth

  Olivet Academy equips students with the knowledge of God, of their fellow man, and of the world around them with a Christ-centered, biblical worldview. We seek to serve the developmental needs of the whole student and promote a balanced growth of intellect, emotion, and volition. It is our endeavor to maximize the student’s God-given potential, which cultivates the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. (Philippians 3:12, ESV) We foster a love of learning, where rigor and joy co-exist in harmony in a growth mindset as students engage living ideas, not merely the dispensation of information, and make connections with a wide and varied feast of knowledge from books and things around them.

3. Habits

  Godly habits lead to godly characters. Cultivating virtuous habits such as attention, obedience, self-control, and perfect execution can be likened to laying down railroad tracks in the life of students. The students will be able to smoothly run on the tracks into their future.

  Olivet Academy does not separate education from spiritual life. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18, ESV) The Holy Spirit does the sanctifying work of transforming us to be more like Jesus. We help the students seek constant access to the Holy Spirit who cares about their interests, duties, and joys of life to be more and more like Christ. By partnering together with parents, faculty and staff, Olivet Academy makes intentional efforts to train the students with good habits.
